WEEK 10: JOURNALIST
TASK 10: EVALUATING TO LEARN
This is the last week of work in the Resources and ICT course and this is the last weekly assignment of the course. I would like to say that although at the beginning of the course it was a bit difficult for us to complete the assignments along with the weekly blog posts, being something new for many of us, we have enjoyed the course, improving our shortcomings and learning a lot, so we are a bit sad to see this course come to an end.
We started homework number 10 this Tuesday, April 26th, just back from Easter vacations. That day Linda, our teacher, assigned us by groups one of the six roles we have in the blog (journalist, analyst, curator, star, translator and facilitator). We were assigned the role of journalist, so the task was to create a rubric that could evaluate that role. Since the class was divided into two different groups on Tuesday, each group in my half of the class was assigned a corresponding group from the other half of the class that had been assigned the same role, and had to create a rubric as well.
Before the end of class on Tuesday, once the rubric was finished, we had to upload the assignment done in a google spreadsheet to the padlet link shared with the rest of the classmates.
The next day, on Wednesday, as we were both halves together in the same classroom, we got together with our corresponding group to share our rubrics and thus create a new one by merging them and putting points in common to improve them. Once created we had to create a google form, where we had to capture the points of the rubric in order to evaluate using the rubric in a google form, thus being much more comfortable. When we finished creating the form along with the rubric we had to evaluate the post of three groups in our class, which Linda assigned us. We had to look up the journalist's post from the second week of work on each of the blogs and evaluate it with our google form. When we finished filling out the form, among the whole group, we wrote in a document the feedback from each blog so we could give it to each group. After this, our star had to make a small presentation explaining to each group how our rubric worked and what were the important points to take into account.
Finally, today Friday April 29th, we met in class again for our star to give feedback to each group in order to help them improve their blog posts in terms of the role of the analyst.
Here are a few pictures of the week!
Here is a link to a blog that explains quite well the function of evaluating to learn!
And I also share with you the link to the blog of our corresponding colleagues in the creation of the rubric, this being a very well structured blog with a lot of important information.
